With CNN, the AP and assorted other media outlets on hand, sea turtle eggs were loaded into a FedEx truck at the St. Joe Buffer Preserve for transportation to a plane and then Cape Canaveral for relocation on the Atlantic Coast. Memorial Day Weekend

From Slim Fatz and the series of artists who comprised the Yellow Fever Music Festival on Friday and Saturday to several days of glorious weather, there was plenty to do, and plenty of folks, in the county for Memorial Day Weekend. The rental properties, motels and restaurants did brisk business, the marinas and boat launches were overflowing with boats, trailers and anglers and the music festival drew crowds to Marina Cove in Port St. Joe. The sun was out, the water bright, clear and green and folks found all sorts of ways to enjoy the sand and water, from kayaking to swimming to fishing to boating to just lounging in the waves. All in all, it was a fine holiday weekend in Gulf County.
